Achterhoek street artist Rosalie de Graaf was the first artist to become involved in the Silo Art Tour. She discovered her passion for painting at the age of 15 and developed herself further thanks to countless instruction videos on YouTube. “You can truly learn everything about techniques and light and shadow effects online. Once I am interested in something, I become completely engrossed in it”, says Rosalie. She was commissioned to carry out street art projects by private individuals and businesses while studying Medicine. She decided to quit her studies to focus fully on her business and to fulfil her ambition to show the world that street art and graffiti are not just the domain of men. That later proved to be a wise move.

About me My mission is to make the world a little more colourful

Rosalie is a great talent with her business RoosArt. She was declared Best Young Entrepreneur of the Netherlands in 2019. This self-taught artist has been unstoppable since then and travels the world leaving her artistic footprint behind. Her artworks are spread across the globe from Brummen to Bangkok and from Hengelo to Kuala Lumpur. In addition to creating tattoo designs and designing her own clothes, her street art murals are making a huge impact.

Reaching new heights with her art
Roos Art is attracting attention in the world of street art and graffiti, the square meterage of each artwork keeps increasing too. She decided to obtain a Working at Height certificate. That is no unnecessary luxury for painting a grain silo of nine metres in height. Rosalie gets stuck in with the design in one hand and a graffiti spray can in the other. She plans and calculates everything in advance, so all she has to do onsite is spray the right colour in the right square. “A little like Ravensburger’s painting by numbers. The only difference is the size”, explains Rosalie.
